Just a short drive from Portland, tucked among the rolling farmland of Hillsboro, is one of the most delightful family destinations in the Pacific Northwest, where baby goats leap into your lap, children giggle nonstop, and parents discover that goat therapy might actually be a real thing.

Welcome to Portland Party Goats.  I had the opportunity to visit a few years ago with my sister and fell in love with this place.

What began as a simple dream on an 18-acre property has grown into a beloved family attraction that draws visitors from throughout Oregon and Washington.

A Farm Built by Goats

The story of Portland Party Goats began in 2017 when the owners purchased an 18-acre property overrun with blackberry bushes and dense brush. Looking for a natural solution to help clear the land, they brought home three Nigerian Dwarf goats named Chloe, Lucy, and Steve.

Those three goats quickly became family favorites.

Before long, the herd began to grow, and so did the family’s love for these playful, affectionate animals. Today, the farm is home to dozens of Nigerian Dwarf goats along with a variety of other friendly farm animals. What started as a practical land-clearing project evolved into a thriving farm experience where families can interact with animals up close and create lasting memories.

Why Families Love Visiting

Unlike many petting zoos, visitors are encouraged to spend time interacting directly with the animals. Children can pet, brush, cuddle, and often hold baby goats while learning about farm life in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Beyond the goats, families may encounter chickens, ducks, peacocks, kittens, a miniature horse, a miniature donkey, and other farm animals that call the property home. The farm’s peaceful atmosphere offers a refreshing break from busy schedules and screen time.

Many local families describe their visits as therapeutic, educational, and surprisingly relaxing. Online reviews frequently praise the friendly owners, the well-cared-for animals, and the opportunity for children to experience farm life firsthand.

Bring the Goats to Your Home

One of the most unique features of Portland Party Goats is that the goats can come to you.

The farm offers mobile goat parties for birthdays, school events, family reunions, weddings, corporate gatherings, retirement communities, baby showers, and community celebrations. Friendly baby goats are transported to your event along with a secure enclosure, giving guests the chance to cuddle, pet, and interact with the animals in a safe setting.  I had them come to my retirement party, and they were a huge hit.

Imagine the surprise on your child’s face when four adorable baby goats arrive at their birthday party!  Parents say these events quickly become the highlight of any celebration and create unforgettable photo opportunities.
