Back by popular demand, Northwest Children’s Theater is bringing the wildly loved Pete the Cat live rock musical back to the stage—and families are invited to rock along. Following last year’s near sell-out run, this encore production has returned to The Judy in downtown Portland, playing now through February 15 and featuring much of the original cast and all the high-energy fun kids adored the first time around.

Based on the bestselling “Pete the Cat” book series, the musical celebrates creativity, imagination, and staying cool under pressure. When Pete moves in with the Biddle family, he befriends Jimmy, a super-organized second grader who struggles to think outside the box. With Pete’s help, Jimmy learns to embrace imagination and the unexpected, leading families on a joyful, visually vibrant adventure packed with catchy songs, humor, and heart. Directed by NWCT Artistic Director Sarah Jane Hardy, the production blends music, movement, and bold visuals into an immersive theater experience designed to delight kids and parents alike.

Performances take place on The Mainstage at The Judy with showtimes at 11am and 2pm. With music, laughter, and meaningful lessons about friendship and creativity, Pete the Cat is a feel-good theater outing the whole family can enjoy.
