“The school offers the highest quality training… [in a] creative, supportive and structured environment”  – ABC’s KATU Afternoon Live

This summer marks a transformative milestone for Oregon International Ballet Academy (OIBA) as the renowned training center for young dancers expands into a brand-new,  state-of-the-art studio space in Beaverton. The move reflects a decade of steady growth and artistic excellence, with the new facility poised to support more dancers, more classes, and more creative opportunities than ever before.

Located at 9655 SW Sunshine Court, Suite 700, OIBA’s new home more than doubles its space to 3,748 square feet, allowing OIBA to welcome additional students into its year-round training programs, including those from abroad as part of its international cultural exchange program. Two spacious studios meet the highest professional standards, while offices, a waiting area, and ample parking will accommodate more rehearsals, performances, and community classes in the seasons ahead.

“This is an incredibly exciting new chapter for OIBA, made possible by the unwavering support of our families and the broader arts community,” said Artistic Director Xuan Cheng, who founded the Academy ten years ago alongside her husband and award-winning choreographer Ye Li. “Our students inspire us daily, and this new space will give them the room to grow—in every sense.”

To celebrate, OIBA invites the community to a Grand Opening Celebration featuring:

  • Free trial mini classes and demos
  • Family-friendly activities
  • A barbecue and plenty of treats
  • Raffle prizes
  • Studio tours
  • Opportunities to connect with teachers and directors

Open to students of all experience levels, OIBA’s holistic and personalized approach to classical ballet training has made it one of Oregon’s most respected cultural learning centers. With a dual emphasis on classical rigor and contemporary relevance, the Academy has trained hundreds of aspiring dancers, many of whom have gone on to top-tier universities, and OIBA students recently earned first prize at the International Rising Stars Ballet Competition in China.

Lauded for its commitment to technical excellence and nurturing mentorship, OIBA has emerged as a cornerstone of Oregon’s cultural landscape since its founding in 2015. With this expansion, OIBA enters its second decade with a powerful vision for the future, and open doors to all who dream of dancing.
