Spooky season is here, and you know what that means, right? It’s the best time to go looking for a haunted house! Oregon is considered one of the most haunted places in the United States, with many people claiming that its haunted hotels will show you ghosts, moving objects, voices, and more. Not to mention that Oregon also has haunted military posts, roads, and mansions. The state is also known for having entire ghost towns! So, if you’re ready to be spooked, follow us for the top five haunted houses!

Milburn’s Haunted Manor

Milburn’s Haunted Manor is one of the scariest haunted house attractions in Oregon and has also won awards for it. It’s located right outside Hubbard and has a pumpkin patch. With various events, including a zombie night and a feature that asks if you’re afraid of the dark, you’ll find ghoulish fun awaiting you here.

When you’re ready to relax, however, you can have fun in the pumpkin patch or get something to eat at the concession stand. A portion of the proceeds will support the community clubs and the local high school!

13th Door Haunted House

The 13th Door Haunted House is the largest in the state, and people all over marvel at the craftsmanship. Each set is highly detailed, and they have actors and animated creatures. Now, they recommend that your children who are thirteen and up enjoy this and not attend if you have medical sensitivities, heart issues, are expecting, and so on. However, if you don’t have any problems, prepare for a completely immersive experience. The sets are so detailed that they even use smell! It’s a wonderfully interactive experience that takes haunted houses to a new level.

Frightmare Theatre

Frightmare Theatre has been proudly scaring the pants of people for a decade and is proud to be back this year! Run entirely by volunteers and a nonprofit, all the proceeds of this haunted house go to the Brighton Academy School’s operating fund. They consider that some people have a low threshold for scariness, so younger people have a less frightening area. With intricate attractions and scary clowns, among other things, however, we bet you’ll be just fine with getting your heart racing. After all, there’s a reason they’ve been around so long.

Nightmare Factory

This one is cool. The Nightmare Factory is at the Oregon School for The Deaf. They have a pitch-black event where you and your group travel through darkness. You get one light. Only one. This is one seriously creepy haunted house with creatures of the night lurking around every corner. Like others, they have a warning for people coming in, and we’d recommend checking them out. People prone to seizures and heart conditions are advised not to do this. A new feature of the haunted house is the birthday treat option. It lets you come in as a group of eight and offers a unique ticket price. It’s a great option if having people there will help your nerves.

Underhill Haunted House

A small group of volunteers, artists, and actors that go wild for Halloween run the Underhill Haunted House. It makes the list because not only are they wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant, but no mazes are also ever the same. They change each year, with this one being the Salvage Yard and the Terror Ship. The haunted house also offers a monster fest for the younger ones and for people who are scared easily. Bring your family if you’d like to save money on the tickets! If you buy six tickets, you get twenty dollars off! For a group rate, that’s fantastic!

Some Haunted Houses Are Stricter Than Others

Because of the scariness of some of these haunted houses, each has warnings about who can come and who can’t. Some are more strict and won’t let you go in if you have crutches or take medication, for example. Check the website beforehand to ensure you choose the one right for your family and their unique needs.

Which Haunted House Is Going to Scare You?

Halloween is such a fun time, and for those who love the creepy and feel goosebumps rise on their arms, these are the haunted houses to check out and well worth the drive. The best part is that each haunted house has something the others don’t, making each one a unique choice. So have fun, be scared, and have a tremendous spooky season!
