Lilac Days at Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens

For a wonderfully smelling event, head to Woodland, Washington, for the iconic yearly event known as Lilac Days. The Lilac Lady, Hulda Klager, embarked on the journey of hybridizing lilacs on her property in 1905, resulting in the creation of 14 new lilac varieties within a span of merely five years. The fruits of her labor can still be admired at her charming farm. In addition to the display of springtime flowers, the expansive 7-acre estate showcases Hulda’s meticulously restored 1880 Victorian farmhouse, woodshed, and water tower. The original carriage house has been transformed into a delightful gift shop where visitors can peruse souvenirs and exquisite craft items crafted by local artists.
