There are so many amazing small coastal towns here in Oregon. However, if we were going to define the perfect Pacific Northwest beach town, it would hands down be Pacific City. Pacific City is a little slice of heaven.
Pacific City is known for its breathtaking coastal landscapes, featuring expansive sandy beaches, towering sand dunes, and the iconic Haystack Rock. The natural beauty of the area is a major draw for photographers, nature enthusiasts, and those seeking a peaceful escape. Pacific City is basically between Tillamook and Lincoln City. It is about a 2-hour drive from Portland. So it is a fairly quick trip.
Here are some things to do in or around Pacific City for families:
- Head to Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area. This stunning coastal area is known for its dramatic sandstone cliffs, sandy beaches, and amazing ocean views. Hike up the dunes for breathtaking panoramic vistas, explore tide pools, and watch the waves crash against the cliffs.
