August is among us, and while the start of the school year is just around the corner, for many parents, nearly one month of occupying and engaging their little ones remains.
Below are some family-friendly activities to get your little ones away from the screen time and out in the community for some end-of-the-summer fun.
Legos at the Library
Do your little ones love Legos? Join the West Linn Public Library every first Sunday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. for monthly Lego Club gatherings and build houses, castles, and towers while making friends and learning new Lego tips along the way. The next Lego Club event is August 6, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Attendance is free and open to kids ages 4-12 years old. Bricks and supplies are provided. Learn more here.
Summer Fun Days at Blue Lake Regional Lake

Multnomah Days Festival
Join your fellow Oregonian parents for local art shows, kids activities, live music, and more at the Multnomah Days Festival on Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Multnomah Village (Capitol Hwy between the bridge/Garden Home Rd and SW 31st Ave.) The Multnomah Days Festival features 120+ vendor booths, a community parade, live music, a Kids Zone, street entertainers, art, beverage carts, and outdoor street dining.
