It is time! It’s time! It is time to visit some of our local farm stands. A farm stand is typically a small retail outlet or market that sells fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, and other locally-grown products directly from a farm (or nearby producers). We are so lucky to have many options near us. Many of these farms are located in Hillsboro, but there are places all around. Be sure to add these to your list this summer!
Here are some of the best farm stands to visit in the Portland metro area:
Sparrowhawk Farm 32720 NW Hornecker Rd. Hillsboro, OR 97124
Stand Hours: 12 pm-5 pm Thursday, Friday, & Saturday
Sparrowhawk Farm is a small family-run organic method farm offering vegetables and fruit. They farm using organic and sustainable methods. At their farm stand, they offer fresh, organically grown produce, local organic grains, locally roasted coffee, and fresh and dried organic mushrooms. Sparrowhawk Farm is part of the Gates Century Farm, farmed and occupied by the Gates family since 1897. Five generations of farmers have grown crops on the Gates Farm/Sparrowhawk Farm.
Our Table Cooperative 13390 SW Morgan Rd. Sherwood, OR 97140
Stand Hours: 10 am-8 pm Tuesday-Saturday & 10 am-6 pm Sunday
Our Table Cooperative is a cooperative of farmers, producers, and customers working together to create thoughtful and delicious food for the local community. From their 58-acre diversified farm, they grow a variety of Certified Organic fruit, vegetables, and flowers and produce pasture-raised eggs. You can visit their farm grocery to bring home fresh produce, meat, dairy, kombucha, and other local products. Our Table also hosts events like farm-to-table dinners, festivals, and cooking and DIY classes.

Scholls Valley Railroad Hours: 10 am-5:45 pm Wednesday-Sunday
Hoffman Farms Store features a variety of berries, including strawberries, raspberries, tayberries, blackberries, blueberries, and marionberries. They also offer a family-friendly farm environment with well-maintained rows for easy access for the u-pick crowd. However, they have a fantastic farm store. Check out their seasonal shakes as well. There is also a train to ride!
Smith Berry Barn 24500 SW Scholls Ferry Rd. Hillsboro, OR 97123
Stand Hours: 10 am-5 pm Tuesday– Sunday
Smith Berry Barn specializes in over 20 varieties of berries, including strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, marionberries, and several types of blackberries, including boysenberry, loganberry, and tayberries. They also offer quality gourmet products, including their very own preserves made with fruit picked at the peak of ripeness right from their farm. Smith Berry Barn also serves Cascade Glacier ice cream and espresso drinks. They have plants, gifts, and more.
West Union Gardens 7775 NW Cornelius Pass Rd. Hillsboro, OR 97124
Stand Hours in July-August: 8 am-8 pm Monday-Saturday
West Union Gardens has a farmstand and u-pick that opens when the berry season begins, usually in early July. They offer a variety of berries and veggies grown right on their farm. They also provide email notifications for openings and other seasonal updates. In addition, they have at least one sunflower field for photography that will be available in the summer of 2023.

Parsons Farm offers fresh and local produce. Parsons Farms is now a 3rd generation family farm that has expanded all across the Portland metro area with produce stands. Produce is freshly picked daily, so sometimes they run a little later than 11:30 am. If they are not there, please wait, and they will be there as soon as they can! Now that is some fresh produce!
