It is hard to believe, but now is actually a wonderful time to start thinking about the holidays. We know, we know, boo, hiss…it isn’t even Halloween yet. However, it is specifically a great time to shop for people that are out of town. You are going to need time to explore, buy, and shop. So, start looking now! We will look at how to send a part of Oregon all around the country (or the world).

In Oregon, we are so spoiled to have many shopping options. We have our biggies … NikeColumbia Sportswear, and Hydroflask. These offer some great gift options. But we also have some AMAZING small businesses, local artists, and more homegrown options.

Shopping Small

Budd + Finn

According to their website, “Budd + Finn was born of the concept that the ideal shop should offer unique and well-designed products at affordable prices – in an inviting, approachable, relaxed atmosphere.” This shop is literally the cutest. You will want to get everything they sell for friends and family…and yourself.

Urbanite

Urbanite has Portland’s best designers and makers. There are over 40 interior creators who provide vintage items, antiques, one-of-a-kind items, modern elements, retro finds, art, and lighting. There is something for everyone. Have someone hard to shop for? Go here!

City Home

City Home website says, “From gorgeous furniture to unique decorative accents, we like to blend organic, nostalgic, and distinctive elements to create an immersive, laid-back shopping experience. Our mission is to let creativity breathe and help our customers curate spaces that speak to their own unique style.” It is a lovely place, and you are sure to find something.

Portland Saturday Market

Portland Saturday Market has been around since 1974. We bet you have taken your out-of-town guests here. It is a Portland favorite! Their website states, “And items are still sold by the people who make them, giving the customers a chance to talk directly with the artisan about their craft and why artists choose to make their living at the Market. Despite how much the Market has grown, it is still, at heart, an artists’ community.” You can meet the makers and find the perfect gift.

Farmers Market

Farmers’ Markets have all sorts of gifts that would be great. There is way more than just fresh fruits and veggies. There are food, gifts, and other fun finds. Check out the link to see what Farmers’ Markets are near you.

Oregon Holiday Events and Bazaars

This time of the year brings the beginning of holiday events and bazaars. These events have homemade goodies and all sorts of things. If you go to the link, you can see what is happening around the area. Events start at the end of October, and the month of November is full of options. Put them on your calendar.

Etsy Sellers in Oregon

Etsy is a great place to find crafters, artists, and some really unique gifts. We searched for just Oregon Etsy sellers that you can access at the link.

Some Of Our Bigger Companies

Pendleton

Oh, beautiful, beautiful Pendleton. You can get gorgeous blankets, quality clothes, and lovely home goods. It is a favorite go-to holiday gift.

Jacobson Salt Co.

Jacobson Salt Co. was founded in 2011. Jacobsen Salt Co. is the first company to harvest salt in the Pacific Northwest since the 1800s. It is truly delicious salt. Plus, they have all sorts of other options and varieties. This is a fun gift.

Stumptown

Stumptown Coffee Roasters started in Portland in 1999 and expanded nationwide. Their coffee is scrumptious, and they also have coffee gear for sale. It is a quick and easy gift for coffee fans in your world.

Nossa Familia

Coffee again? Yes, please. This place is so yummy. According to their website, “Nossa Familia Coffee is a Portland, Oregon-based roaster that was founded in 2004 by Brazilian native Augusto Carneiro. Augusto has always felt a deep sense of pride for the work his family has done growing coffee in the highlands of Brazil since the 1890s, and he formed Nossa Familia to bring his family’s coffee to Portland.” What a treat to share!

Bob’s Red Mill

We have talked about Bob’s Red Mill before here. Bob’s Red Mill is sold in many places, but the website has grains, mixes, or on-the-go goodies that you may not be able to find in the stores.

Harry and David

This place may seem cliché, but it is legit. Yes, they are the gift basket people. We love the Fruit of the Month club for friends and family who don’t get the treat of living in the Pacific Northwest. We have wonderful fruits to share! This is an excellent gift for all.

We hope this list helps you get a jump on the holiday shopping you may have. What are your favorite Oregon companies, artists, or makers?
